Haratio Caine/ David Caruso
- Rising quickly through the ranks, Caine grew frustrated with departmental bureaucracy and threatened to quit. Al Humphries came to his rescue by offering him to train as his second in command with the bomb squad. When Megan Donner stepped down as head of the Crime Lab, the Police Chief asked Caine to take over. Although he had thrives as a member of the Bomb Squad, Caine missed what had drawn him to the police work in the first place; the science of catching the “bad guy”. He accepted the position. He knows that science ultimately provides the solution, but he also knows that there is more to crime- solving then blood splatter and DNA. When it comes to protecting his city, Haratio doesn’t just trust science, he trusts his gut.
Calleigh Duquesne/ Emily Procter
- With the help of a teacher, Calleigh enrolled at Tulane University with a full scholarship, the first of the family to go to college. Reinventing herself, she took her mother’s name- Duquesne and used her charm to enter the lifestyle her mother had always dreamed about, choosing a degree in the sciences far from her narrow minded past. But in the vacuum after graduation, she could not escape everything her father had taught her. Protecting justice became the call of her life. While walking a beat for the New Orleans Police department, her knowledge of firearms gained her the reputation as the “bullet girl,” and she was soon asked to join the crime lab. Not long after that, her boss received a call from an old friend in Miami, Haratio Caine. Miami Dade was looking for a ballistics expert.
Eric Delko/ Adam Rodrigues
- He entered the MDPD police academy and offered his skills as a swimmer to the MDPD underwater recovery department. He became one of the elite officers on the team, but infuriated his father, who believed this life, was beneath his son. But his father was not the only one who thought there was something better for Delko. Having met Haratio Caine during a bomb scare, Delko’s natural instincts and scientific curiosity impressed Haratio. When Haratio took over the crime lab, Delko was his first recruit. Delko had been wrong in college. A medal was in his future; the badge of the Miami- Dade Crime Scene Investigation team.
Detective Yelina Salas/ Sofia Milos
- the widow of Raymond Caine, Colombian born detective Salas now finds herself in the awkward situation of working homicide with her brother in law Haratio and his CSI’s. aware of Haratio’s attraction to her, Salas often tried to steer him toward spending more time with her and her son, Raymond Jr. Haratio insists on keeping his distance.
Alexx Woods/ Khandi Alexander
- Woods took a part time job with the New York Coroner’s Office. At first, she felt this was a step beneath her, but it was not long before she realized the works suited her, she was able to spend time alone. Bring chaos into order, and, most importantly, she grew to understand that these dead victims needed to speak for them. When the county of Miami- Dade approached her to head up their new state of the art facility, it was a difficult decision to make. It meant moving away from her family, but her husband and children,, Janie and Bryan, as did her family, agreed that the people in Miami needed her. People have been confused by her bedside manner with the dead, but to Woods they have come to her because they still have a story to tell.
Ryan Wolfe/ Jonathan Togo
- as a new CSI, Wolfe will not only have to prove he can do that job, he will also have to fill a spot once held by Tim Speedle, whose untimely death has rattled the tight knit CSI team. Patrol Officer Ryan Wolfe impressed Caine enough to earn him a chance to work for CSI.
